AHV Salmo Sea Q+

AHV Salmo Sea Q+ provides additional support to enhance fish health. It’s specifically formulated with a combination of ingredients that boost immune function and incorporate anti-biofilm components. It also includes ingredients to optimize gut microbiota resulting in improved nutrient uptake. AHV Salmo Sea Q+ is designed to maximize support during periods of increased fish stress, such as environmental challenges and handling.

Why the AHV Salmo Sea Q+?

Stress due to handling, treatments, and environmental challenges can often negatively impact the health and welfare of farmed fish, weaking the immune system and leaving fish susceptible to unfavourable bacteria. Bacterial
outbreaks may cause high mortality, poor welfare, and losses in farms. When the natural defence system of fish is exhausted, antibiotics become the only viable alternative to control bacterial outbreaks and avoid even higher mortalities (Rozas-Serri, 2021).

While antibiotics are often essential for restoring the health and welfare of populations, their use can have negative consequences on the environment and, when not used properly, they can induce bacteria to form a protective layer called biofilm (Kaplan, 2011). In a biofilm, bacteria can become resistant to antibiotics faster than in their free-living, planktonic, form (Richards & Melander, 2009).

Working mechanism and mode of action

AHV Salmo Sea Q+ has been specifically formulated, combining ingredients that give an extra boost to the immune function while incorporating antibiofilm components. The plus version of our AHV Salmo Sea Q+ is designed for periods when fish is at high risk of bacterial challenges due to internal or external factors such as increase stress, environmental challenges, and handling.

How to use AHV Salmo Sea Q+?

AHV Salmo Sea Q+ is to be administered orally, blended with the feed. Use for at least 4 weeks during high-risk periods when fish need an extra support against bacterial infections and a boost of the immune system.

AHV Salmo Sea Q+ is available in 10kg bags
