These challenges encompass not just regulatory considerations but also extend to sustainability and the cost efficiency of the production while maintaining the welfare and health of fish. Our commitment as AHV to salmon farmers and the community is to contribute our knowledge, through AHV products, to maintain the welfare of animals and the oceans with the concept of “Animal Health Vision” 

In our pursuit to enhance the  well-being and sustainability of production fish, we collaborate closely with farmers and stakeholders. Our efforts have focused on health- innovations tailored for all stages of salmonids growth and the different challenges that occur. We have developed health solutions for both freshwater and seawater, which are divided into the programs below:

In salmonid farming, several crucial steps ensure successful growing from egg to smolt. However, several challenges could impact the correct development of fish in freshwater. These range from environmental challenge conditions, stress related to handling, nutritional challenges, and health challenges. Furthermore, stressful situations and tackling other challenges during this stage are crucial for the successful development and further smoltification in preparation for transfer to the seawater stage.

During the growing period in seawater, fish face numerous challenges that can affect their health and welfare. Strengthening the health of salmonids from transfer from freshwater to seawater and supporting the immune system during periods of stress can help to avoid poor performance, such as mortality, low growth rate and higher FCR, which translate into economic losses for the producer.
