AHV Aquo
AHV Salmo Aquo is designed with natural bioactive components that disrupt bacterial Quorum Sensing (QS) communication, causing the biofilm to break open leaving detrimental bacteria unprotected. Additionally, it contains plant extracts that stimulate the fish’s immune system, enhancing their natural defences and making them more resilient during critical periods like handling, transfer, and environmental changes.
Why the Aquo?
During the production cycle of salmonids, both in freshwater and sea water periods, fish may encounter several challenges that can affect their overall health and welfare. Outbreaks of unfavourable bacteria cause mortality and losses in farms. Even though vaccines are available for some of the bacterial diseases, the effectiveness of vaccines against these diseases can vary (Figueroa et al. 2019) leaving the fish’s immune system as the only barrier against infections.
Working mechanism and mode of action
AHV Aquo is designed with a unique combination of natural bioactive components that disrupt bacterial Quorum Sensing (QS) communication by blocking the development, attachment, and formation of biofilm. This QS disruption causes the biofilm to break open leaving the bacteria unprotected. In addition, AHV AQUO contains plant extracts that stimulate the immune system, helping the natural defences of fish to clear the released bacteria. This results in healthy fish with increased resistance to unfavourable bacteria, making them more resilient to critical periods like handling, transfer, and changes in the environmental conditions.
How to use AHV Aquo?
AHV Aquo needs to be administered orally, blended with the feed. Add 1 gr of the supplement to 10 kg of a complete aquaculture feed through vaccuum coating. Use in high-risk periods for at least 4 weeks or as part as a proactive strategy during the whole production cycle every 4 weeks to reach the maximum support for the health and performance. In case of high risk of a bacterial outbreak or on immune depressed fish that are in risk of outbreak and high mortality, use together with AHV Aquaspi proactively for maximum support.
