MODE OF ACTION
AHV StartLac is a dietetic complementary feed designed to support calcium balance around calving. By providing highly available calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium, StartLac helps stabilise mineral levels when demand increases rapidly after calving.
The formulation supports the cow’s intestinal absorption and internal mobilisation of key minerals, aided by pidolate and vitamin D₃, which promote effective uptake and utilisation. This helps maintain muscle function, nerve activity, and metabolic stability, all of which are essential for a smooth transition into lactation.
By supporting mineral balance and encouraging early feed intake, StartLac contributes to reduced risk of milk fever and subclinical hypocalcaemia, supporting stronger performance in early lactation and a more confident start to the milk cycle.

How to use StartLac?
Choose from paste or tablet form to suit your routine.
- StartLac Tablet; Administer 2 tablets orally per animal using the AHV tablet applicator, after removing the foil first.
- StartLac Paste: Remove cap and administer contents of tube orally, using the AHV Paste applicator gun.
When to use StartLac?
For optimal results, apply 1x StartLac Paste or 2x StartLac Tablets immediately after calving.
Use StartLac Paste reactively in case of milk fever or if additional energy and mineral support is needed after calving or during (severe) uterine health issues.
