MODE OF ACTION
AHV StartLac is a dietetic complementary feed for dairy cows for the reduction of the risk of milk fever and subclinical hypocalcaemia.
The product provides highly absorbable calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium to support cows during the mineral dip after calving. It also promotes mineral balance in the days following administration.
HOW STARTLAC SUPPORT FRESH COWS
StartLac stimulates feed intake immediately after calving, helping cows consume more on the day of calving. Pidolate enhances calcium and phosphorus absorption via the intestines, while vitamin D3 supports uptake from the bones. Combined with increased feed intake, this leads to a more stable mineral balance and helps prevent a second dip. StartLac offers both immediate and long-term mineral support

How to use StartLac?
- Tablet: Administer orally using the AHV applicator, after removing the foil first. Administer after feeding or after the cow has been allowed to stand for 15 minutes, to avoid regurgitation.
- Paste: Administer orally using the AHV paste applicator, after removing the cap first.
When to use StartLac?
- Proactive: Immediately after calving, 1x Paste or 2x Tablet (1x tablet at calving and 1x 12-24 hours later)
- Reactive: Use StartLac Paste reactively in case of milk fever or if additional energy and mineral support is needed after calving. The paste can also be used reactively for cows at high risk of uterine health issues or during (severe) uterine health issues.
