LAB
OUR OWN FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH LAB
What happens inside the world’s largest laboratory focused on quorum sensing?
At AHV, animal health begins in our state-of-the-art QSB-Research Center, where science, innovation, and nature come together to develop effective, natural solutions for animals. Our commitment to improving animal well-being is reflected in our in-house research and development, which drives the continuous evolution of our product portfolio.
A Multidisciplinary Approach to Animal Health
The QSB-Research Center is home to three specialized laboratories, each playing a vital role in the development, testing, and refinement of AHV’s natural products:

Microbiological lab

Our Microbiological Lab focuses on the anti-virulence properties of plant extracts and their impact on antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. Here, we study how bacterial populations communicate through quorum sensing (QS) and how our patented Quorum Sensing Inhibition (QSI) Technology disrupts this process. By targeting bacterial communication rather than the bacteria themselves, our extracts help prevent antimicrobial resistance, supporting a healthier immune system and reducing the need for antibiotics.

Cell Culture lab

In the Cell-tissue lab, we explore how natural ingredients support animal health at the cellular level. Our research focuses on understanding the immunomodulatory effects of bioactive compounds using standard in vitro models.
We also investigate intestinal integrity, a key factor in overall health and nutrient absorption. Our team assesses how various natural ingredients influence barrier function and gut resilience. This lab enables us to:
- Identify effective concentration ranges
- Assess the potential effects on immune system and intestinal integrity
- Optimize formulations for specific health challenges
Through these approaches, we aim to uncover the mechanism by which our products promote more efficient immune system, optimal gut function, and improved animal performance.

Chemical Analytical lab

The Chemical Analytical Lab ensures the quality, stability, and safety of our products. Using advanced techniques like Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), we perform both qualitative and quantitative analyses to:
- Identify active compounds and metabolites
- Measure concentrations and shelf life
- Validate product performance across different matrices (e.g., feed, milk, plasma)
This lab supports product development and customer-specific testing, ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards.
Innovation Across Animal Segments
Since 2014, AHV has expanded its portfolio beyond dairy cattle to include:
- Cattle: dairy, beef, calves
- Swine: sows, piglets
- Aquaculture: salmon, tilapia
- Goats, sheep, lambs
- Poultry: broilers, laying hens, turkeys (in development)
Our goal is to support animal health and performance across species using natural feed additives and complementary feed, tailored for individual and group treatment.
WHY IT MATTERS
By housing all research, development, and production under one roof, AHV ensures agility, speed, and precision in responding to customer needs. Our labs allow us to:
- Rapidly test new ideas
- Validate product safety and efficacy
- Deliver innovative solutions aligned with farmer challenges
At AHV, we remain committed to advancing animal health through science and nature—helping farmers achieve better performance and healthier herds.
